If you are interested in being a Raider soccer player, please look at the 10 player expectations below and make sure that you can follow them. Understand that ACADEMICS IS FIRST and all  players are expected to perform to their fullest potential while being a fantastic representation of the team and its staff.

1. Effort: Always do your best. Every day. Every play. In every way! When you fail, learn from your mistakes and FAIL FORWARD. Attend conditioning from day one and make your fitness, technical, and tactical numbers better every year. Remember, you don't have to attend sessions, you GET to attend.

2. Mental Toughness: Control the controllables. Do your best and forget the rest!

3.Act Like a Captain:  Make others around you better. Always play to your fullest potential and be the change you want to see in the team.

4. Look the Part: Always wear the agreed upon attire for practice and game days. We should look like we are one unit.

5. Punctuality: Early is on time and on time is late. If it matters to you, you will be on time and ready to participate.

6. Be a Good Ambassador: To outsiders, you ARE the team. You represent the soccer team and the coaching staff when you wear our gear. Act in a manner that would make us proud.  What you say and do when you think others aren't watching is a true test of your character. Never leave trash on the practice or game field and always clean up after yourself in the locker room.  Your language and classroom behavior also matters -enough said.

7. Be Coachable: Be a student of the game. Watch your game film and professional matches the way coaches watch them.  Think about why coaches say and do what they do during the season (what was the purpose of the practice, what are they trying to get you to know, understand, and do?). Practice individually at home and have a good attitude as you learn.  Work on increasing your scores for things  like juggling, the Clockwork Challenge, and the Renegade Challenge, etc.

8. Your Body is a Temple: None of this matters if you are injured so follow our nutrition and hydration guidelines. Stretch properly and get plenty of sleep! Remember, proper hydration starts 48 hours before a match.

9. Make the Main Thing the Main Thing: Set a goal and don't get sidetracked by unnecessary obstacles as you try to achieve it. Never give up what you want most for what you want now. You may have to sacrifice a few things during soccer season if you really want to improve. But as they say, you always make time for things that matter the most to you.

10. Academics: School is way more important than soccer. Make sure that you have what it takes to be a STUDENT athlete. We will establish a team tutoring day during the week if needed and you will always have the opportunity to come in before school for extra assistance. If tutoring days and early sessions aren't helping then it is time to stop soccer and start focusing on your school work.

DISCIPLINE ISSUES

School discipline issues  (detention, ISS, OSS) will be dealt with on a case by case basis. OSS may result in removal from the team. It is far more important that you improve as a person than as a soccer player while attending East. Always exhibit good character and make good choices. I can't stress this enough!

*Appreciate every moment that you are on the field. It will be over before you know and you will miss it like crazy. You should never have to look back on  a time in your life and be forced to ask yourself  "What if?". Make the most of every moment...you'll be glad you did.
